About Slava Cherny

Slava started his art career in film. He started as a stage carpenter at Film Studio Dovjenko in Kiev, Ukraine, and built scenery for film productions. He later moved on to special effect department and made models.


Slava moved to New York in early 90s. He started working as a commercial photographer and worked in various fields including fashion and real estate.  He then studied to become a videographer and worked for clients such as BMCC and Brooklyn College. He later moved to film making and theatre, filmmaking and theatre design lighting, stage and costumes.


He now teaches sculpture and drawing at BMCC Art Department, and assist classes in Video and Art Technology Department for cinematography, lighting and studio production.
